About the event

Hear from leaders in the field of treating PTSD in police, ambulance and fire & rescue workers.

This one-day masterclass will enhance your practice in treating Police and other First Responders with PTSD. With an emphasis on practical tips, user-friendly strategies and real-life case scenarios, we will cover treatment planning, intervention strategies, and outcome measurement, as well as integrating treatment, rehabilitation and family needs in recovery. Building on your existing knowledge in evidence-based approaches for PTSD (including CBT, CPT, EMDR), the workshop will cover risks and issues particular to this challenging client group, working with co-morbidities and therapeutic adaptations (including imagery to address disgust / exposure to the grotesque). Clinical Psychologists Jillian Harrington and Sara Courtwood will share practical insights from decades of clinical work. Including valuable lived experience insights, the programme will include an overview and personal accounts of what treating clinicians need to know about Police work…
